I scanned full body of my friend in class of 3D scanning and printing. I tried to make a table that of scale is 1:1 because he start to live by yourself.

I used 123D Design and Meshmixer to edit the 3d data. 123D design is easier to edit scan data exactly than Fusion 360.Fusion 360 need to convert original data to T-spline model to edit it. And when I edited model roughly, it is good to use Meshmixer.

After that, unzip edited 3d data with 123D Make.I can use two OSB boards. So I reduce parts so as to go in them.

But, I will be able to use shopbot in Aplil. So I cut a test model with laser cutter that the size had 1/6 scale. Then, I fixed the size of OSB board the size of MDF board.

I used Speedy300 produced by trotec to do the assignment of laser cutter.

There are many complex parts. I made them ,reading the text on them

It took 90 minutes to construct that. Some parts couldn't be attached physically. Unfortunately, the leg and body were separeted. But I wanted to make the leg as a chair.

Cut with Shopbot

I used Shopbot in YCAM(Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media) at Yamaguchi. I was taught how to use Shopbot by Koki Akiyoshi working at VUILD design & management.

how to use

  1. read .ai file ,edit offset, make .sbp file in VCarve
  2. put material on Shopbot
  3. attach endmill to Shopbot
  4. put a bar under the endmill and bind a projection of Shopbot with a clip to set focus
  5. set a starting point with keypad that is a one of functions of software to run Shopbot.
  6. make holes in the material
  7. fix with screw not to move the material during running Shopbot
  8. cutting the material

attention

  1. get 24mm or more margin
  2. close keypad when you leave from PC.

I combined many parts with hammer. I noticed that the model is smaller than actual friend after constructing. Today, my friend work in Kanagawa. I made a table that form is his company's logo. And joint him that table. I want to send this object to him. But It too fix to dismantle.
