In this week my task was to design PCB and add atleast one LED and one switch in the PCB.More interesting thing I learned in this week that I learn eagle software for schematic and for PCB design.I get some problems during this proccess.

For this assignment I refered tutorial and

  • schedule too.From that schedule I refer this png to developing my pcb milling and insertion of components too.
  • I use Eagle software for schematic and routing.Firstly, I was installing this software in my PC and using 'help' command inside the software I get information of commands like add,rip,route,net...etc.

    Before making schematic I change grid size like this..

    Using add command I was inserting required components on the grid.Components like resistor,capacitor,resonator,aTtiny 44,FTDI,ISP,Switch and LED with respect to these values.

    Then I inserted components by adding fab library.

    After finishing schematic diagramm I followed switch to board tap.And using move,change,route command I was completing my pcb.

    I was checking errors in schematic by using ERC ...Go through tool-ERC, This command will use for checking the errors inside the design files. That can help during making connections between the components. You should remove that errors by making correct connections between components.

    We check DRC rules going through tool option. It helps to checking board file with considering milling bit path. We can avoid mistakes like shortage of wires. So, before converting milling file into image file you should check DRC rules for your board.

    Then I went to the layer option. I select top layer- dimensions-origin. After finishing PCB board I went to export - image- 500 pxl - monochromatic and say ok. Same path followed for border cutting but this time I was selecting bottom layer- dimensions- origin after changinging width of border I went to export as image format.

    Now, this is time for milling the board. I was using modella machine for milling my board. I was using 1/64 milling bit for the milling and for the border cut 1/64 bit. Two wires coneected becouse of the DRC setting. You should check DRC before converting your board file into png image.

    After milling PCB it looks like this.. I soldered attiny 44 taking care of VCC pin. Also I was checking connectivity between the two points inside the push button. In general we can use flux material for the shiny soldering. It is essential becouse when you left your board atmospheric condition it takes dust particals and finally loose there connectivity between the two components.

    I soldered components on the PCB by calculating resistors value, considering resistors position in the schematic which is in my PCB schematic diagram. I put resistor before LED and I was connecting it into the series.And another resistors which was connecting to the button that resistors are in the parallel manner.So, I learned how to calculate those values using v=IR. This week is quit hectic for me.I learned basic electronics and after that I implimented in my circuit.Still, I am learning electronics...
