Description

propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered, answering:

what will it do?

who's done what beforehand?

what materials and components will be required?

where will they come from?

how much will it cost?

what parts and systems will be made?

what processes will be used?

what tasks need to be completed?

what questions need to be answered?

what is the schedule?

how will it be evaluated?.

WHAT WILL IT DO?

The musical notes will be represented by colors and the keyboard will have lights and a graphic interface that shows which color and note is being selected at that time, so you can learn and compose music using colors.

WHO'S DONE WHAT BEFOREHAND?

I have researched several issues regarding music therapy but so far I have not found a design project that involves music therapy and color psychology simultaneously or in a free way for the user.

WHAT MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS WILL BE REQUIRED?

In this first prototype:

- Electronic components:

drill bits

Cooper board

Pin headers

ATMega328P

20MHz Resonator

1 uF Capacitor

10k Ohm resistor

Switch

Speaker

Audio amplifier

10 kohm Potentiometer

10 ohm Resistor

2x10 uf Capacitor

0.1 uf Capacitor

220 uf Capacitor

Transistor

- 2 Fabduinos

- 3d printed buttons

- MDF case

- Wood case

WHERE WILL THEY COME FROM?

At the moment, all the materials can be found in the FabLab.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

This prototype is around $20

WHAT PARTS AND SYSTEMS WILL BE MADE?

The entire case for the machine will be made in the fablab, as well as the electronics for the microcontroller and input buttons. The buttons will also be made.

WHAT PROCESSES WILL BE USED?

The main processes for the project are the programming of the keyboard.

WHAT TASKS NEED TO BE COMPLETE?

Programming the notes and the graphic interface who indicate de color and the note.

WHAT QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED?

-This prototype has the necessary strength for daily use?

-Can this be an accessible tool for any educational center?

-Complies with the necessary measures and ergonomics for different users?

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?

During the next month, a new case will be designed. Also, the prototype will be tested by teachers and students.

STEP 1: WEEK: February 1 to February 8 2017

To carry out this project is necessary to do extensive research at the theoretical and social level, to be able to understand in depth the needs of users and to develop a tool that is 100% feasible and useful for teaching children with ASD, Of the music and the color, using the psychological part of these subjects.

STEP 2: WEEK: March 1 to March 15 2017

Through the design process, all the variables in terms of ergonomics, resistance of materials, luminosity, colors, information screens are reviewed, in order to develop the tool that allows the child to learn and create music in a free and creative way, to Help you develop all those areas where the child needs to develop.

STEP 3: WEEK: May 3 to May 17 2017

The development of the prototype will allow exploring the form and scale in which the final product will be manufactured, in this process will be used all the tools necessary for its manufacture and construction from wood parts to electronic parts, to achieve a high quality project.

STEP 4: WEEK: June 7 2017

Rather than a final product, is an educational tool in order to generate a social impact and unite the different therapies that are offered to children with ASD.The container frame offered by a Music Therapy session to an autistic individual promotes the child's freedom to learn to move and act in specific ways that facilitate self-discovery and self-expression. The fact of making noise, hitting and shaking instruments, shouting and exploring, generate that extra pleasure indispensable for emotional satisfaction.Color, music and learning.

HOW WILL BE EVALUATED?

The exhibition of this project is fundamental, so it will be shown to an entity called "Costa Rican Association of Parents and Friends of People with Autism", so that the project can be effectively disseminated and implemented in the respective educational centers, And students will benefit from this educational tool.
