What is my project ?

* it's a smart watch that could connect to any android device and display it's data


What will it do ?

* it will be able to connect with any android phone over bluetooth

* it could receive all the android's notifications, SMSs, phone calls and display battery status

i'm going to add a mic, speakers and wifi module as a future work


who's done what beforehand?

This project is in fact an attempt to replicate the work done by retro-watch team but actually i'm adding a new features to the watch, i always dreams to build a cheap smart watch


what materials and components will be required?

* atmega 328 smd

* HC-05 bluetooth module

* OLED display

* lithium battery

* switch


where will they come from?

* i think that china is like the candy store, i can find some components right here in egypt, but the OLED and the Atmega328 "SMD" must be bought from china


how much will it cost?

* atmega328 smd => US $0.01-10 / Piece "upon the requested quantity"

* OLED display 128X64 => US $0.1-5 / Piece

* HC-05 bluetooth module => US $3.34

lithium battery => US $0.95-1.55


what parts and systems will be made?

* the 3D printed enclosure

* PCB


what processes will be used?

* 3D printing "will use injected plastic for mass production"

* milling the PCB "silkscreen for mass production"


what tasks need to be completed?

* adding my future work ( mic, speakers and wifi module) and make many enclosure designs


what questions need to be answered?

* market survey,, do customers like the watch? does it need any extra features?


what is the schedule?

* i'm planning to finish my future work within 3 months, then make an online & offline market survey for one month, tune the watch and add extra features "if needed", after that starting a crowdfunding campaign which might take about two months


how will it be evaluated?

* i think there are two evaluation parameters (adding value, and Sales)
