Week 2 / Computer Aided Design (2D, 3D) In this week I have tried few new software which I have never use before. All of them were free or trial version. For 2D Design I've use Scribus, GIMP
For 3D Design I've use Onshape, Flood but Finally I have use Rhino 5.0 trial and adobe illustrator. I am going to use Grasshopper for design gears and overall shape of the final project.
Try to make steering wheel for my cart. Onshape isn't that bad software but it require fast internet environment and there's no command panel. I have been use Rhino and AutoCAD for more than 5years Command panel is really important for me when designing something. This is flood which design with algorithm. I try to figure out how to use this software by my self but i couldn't. Scribus is actually great soft wear If you get use to it's cheesy interface. Trace with pen tool. After trace you can edit one anchor point by one. It takes time but still good. This is template for testing steering system. I've looked for several photos from google. cz I have no experience to make or design car related thing. Import exported file from illustrator to Rhino (actually you can directly use .ai type of file in Rhino).
but I prefer make .dxf file first from vector program.
I also did steering wheel to test Keyshot 5 renderer. Sketch of the steering. reference. It's not my work!
If you use Dual Monitor this can be happened! I take some time to find the work area behind the Chrome... ;P
Have tried some compose with GIMP.

Here is some file that I designed. _  .DXF wheel.3dm
