About Me

My Photo
Martin Oloo was born in the in the Western part of Kenya. I am a SOcial Worker; I have worked with different people and have realized the potentials in so many people but lack of opportunities, one-time failures and lack of motivators have seen them languish in poverty and even turn to serious drug abuse among other vices. I have basic Graphic Designing Skills and a BIG passion to finding creative ways of solving Community challenges by MAKING THINGS. Fablabs provide this opportunity regardless of Educational background. ARO-FABLAB under ARC-KENYA is one of such Fablab but is unique in its self for the fact of its location in the rural part of Kenya. The Organization which deal with poverty reduction in Western part of Kenya has a number of activities including Child Care, Child Protection, Agriculture, Environmental management and Fabrication Laboratory aka FABLAB with its official name as ARO FABLAB.

Following some challenges ARO-FABLAB's operations stopped for sometime. I then took it upon myself to investigate the causes of it's failure and the possible remedies hence see it resume operations. Armed with Passion and basic skills in designing, I resigned from my employment and joined Fablab as a Volunteer. Engaging one Electric & Electronic Engineer, I managed to bring back the operations in Fablab in minimal Level

I have had privillage to work closely with Engineering Department of Kisumu National Polytechnic, Engineers Without Borders - Norway, Jens Dyvik of Fellesverktedet Fablab- Norway among others.

For the sacrifice to stabilise our Fablab, thanks be to Fab Foundation and Fab Academy Management
