For this week we have to develop a plan for dissemination of our final project. I want to make a glove that will help 3D design, however the scope of my project doesn't contemplate the end product. Actually, it is in the middle of the development. The next logical phase should be the design and coding of the software that will process the information send by the glove.
The repository will have all the files required to duplicate my device, but will not cover all the aspects for the final product because of the reduce time to work. For this purpose I think that a license that considering free diffusion of the work will be the best. In that way more people can download the files and help developing the project. A Creative Commons license will be the most appropriate in this case. A patent for this kind of work will not be a good decision because of the state of the project.
Because I will present all my files without restriction, they can be posted in web pages like "Instructables" for diffusion. Because of the costs and materials needed most people could replicate the work without spending too much. However, if I think of the local market I, not to much people have access to 3D printers or SMD electronics components unless they are related to digital fabrication environments.
The spectate cost of the prototype is about $40 if considered only the supplies used for its fabrication and not whole pieces of materials (like for example buying a full roll of PLA filament for 3D printing) or manufacture service. Those cost will depend of the amount of devices that will be produced.
For the moment the project will not produce incomes because it is not a complete prototype. There is left the development of the software part for 3D drawing. What can be done in the future is to ask for foundings in order to make a more finest prototype and make the software. In that sense a new community could born. A group of people specialize in 3D design using glove devices that allow them to work in a more natural and organic way.
