What will it do?
The final project should be a glove that could control by gesture recognition and hand position tracking some input device. For the moment I am thinking of using the fab car developed in the lab and in which I help to create. The actual goal of the project is to develop a glove for 3D designing in a natural way. However I know the amount of work behind just to develop the software. In the case of the hardware I will also need accurate components, a good and fast controller to process the sensor information.
Who's done what beforehand?
In my research I haven’t found the same products. The closest device in objective are the gloves used in movies for catching movement. Other interesting device is a glove for making music. However, I have found a pen that have the same function for 3D drawing yet, the idea of using the hand is to give an organic way of drawing.
what materials and components will be required? Where will they come from? How much will it cost?
A common glove: can be get in any store. Cost: $3 Elctronic Device: consist of resistor, capacitor, resonator, hall and controller. All of them can be purchase in the local market, at Digikey or find at the Fab Lab. Cost: $15 aprox. Bluetooth Module and MPU6050: communication device and sensor for acceleration and angular velocity. They can be purchase at the local market. Cost: $15 and $5 respectively. 3D printing: the filamente can be purchase at the local markete. The service of printing can be done inside the Fab Lab. Cost: $40
What parts and systems will be made?
The only two modules that are going to be bought are the glove, bluetooth module and the accelerometer. The last one is purchase because the sensor that we have on stock need an special soldering that in not available at the lab. This soldering consist of melting with hot air. The rest of the electronics are going to be made by myself. For the input device I will create a finger skullcap with copper vynil and hall sensors. Also I will need composites for the glove in order to have a rigid surface to paste the electronics.

The first questions to be answered are referred to the objective: What is going to be controlled by the glove? How many gestures do I need to recognize? How complex do this gestures have to be?
Then are the questions about thee development: How to sense the hand gesture? How to make the hand tracking? How to put together the electronics on the glove?
