The Assignment this week is to develop a dissemination plan for your final project.
This project was developed specifically to avoid commercialization. Commercial options for vacuum chambers are extant and common, both industrially and for lab settings.
The problem with existing solutions are they tend to either be relatively small for dehydration purposes or exorbitantly expensive if produced in scale.
As a result, the primary intention for this project was to build a chamber large enough to dehydrate full logs while not costing many thousands of dollars.
If commercialization were viable, I would likely setup a crowd-funding campaign, but I would prefer following the traditional open-source technique and releasing the plans to the world.
If this project were to be scaled up and replicated in the future, it would almost certainly be on a commission basis. There is a significant amount of labor in producing a single chamber, so the best plan for any future consumers would be to custom fabricate one to their individual specifications rather than bulk production.
