Final Project

Week 18: Invention, intellectual property, and income

Final project deployment plan

1. How about licensing?
Regarding licenses, we compare the representative MIT licenses with the licenses of Creative Commons. MITLicense is a software license originating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Regardless of whether it is open source or not, it allow reuse. The Creative Commons license can show various levels of licenses so that the author's intention can be easily expressed. This license is administered by international nonprofit organizations. MIT licenses have less permission restrictions. However, the MIT license is a license for software.
In my project, I would like to treat not only software but design data and circuit data with the same license. For this reason, I chose Creative Commons license. Publish design data and program. License applies Creative Commons display-inheritance license. This license displays credits (name, work titles, etc.) of the original author, and in case of alteration, main conditions are to make it public with the same CC license (this license) as the original work. Secondary use for commercial purposes is also permitted CC license.

The reason for using this license is because I want to make it enjoyable among remote Fabs.
I will eventually release the data as open source.

2. How do you think about manufacturing and selling?
I do not plan to sell. Because it makes the data open.

3. Is there a problem?
To disseminate it is a problem that robot character is weak. Simply say, it's not very pretty yet. It is necessary to seek advice from an acquaintance designer and make improvements.

4. If there is a specific schedule please also write it.
After finishing FabAcademy, I develop necessary data and documents for production. I plan to release data on FabLab Nagano site and GitHub.

This week's assignment is over.
