ASSEMBLY

For assembly we gathered all the parts and all of us started fixing the components one by one.

Summary

To summarize this long process I would like to put the following points:

1. Our initial difficulty was when we chose the threaded screw mechanism, which did not give us desired speed. Since, Light printing requires the LED to move considerably quicker, so we decided to replace the movement in 2 axes with belt-pulley system.

2. Secondly, lot of time went into preparing iterations for achieving pulley and belt box of proper dimensions.

3. Provision of the motor needs to be resolved, it was causing lot of vibrations because of the additional gravity load acting upon it.

4. Initially the rods were fit directly into the side panels. This arrangement was not offering free rotation of these rods. We tried using lubrication, it worked a bit but not enough. So, finally we bought ball-bearings to release the friction and allow free rotation of these rods.
