WEEK 6 Electronics Design

The first step was to study a bit of theoric principles since I was completely ignorant. Andrea from Opendot class suggest this italian huge volume, a kind of Electronics for dummies. "Imparare l'elettronica partendo da zero" by Giuseppe Montuschi.

Than I started in designind the board from the beginning, just to understand better how the software works. This took me a while to pick all the right parts we got here at opendot.

Here is the complete scheme of the board

Than i started designing the board. Positioning pieces one by one.

Since I found difficult to place pieces in a smart architecture, I copied the originl scheme. At the end I redesigned all the traces to make them thinner.

I imported the file in illustrator and prapared it for the laser engraving.

... a little personalization.

...than I tried the 123D circuit tool, just to explore its capabilities

I went through all the board design phase again.

And I lost a lot of time searching for the right components (since here I had no library from FabAcademy).

I have found some design issue in tracing the board. I think this isn't a powerful tool.

In the end I completed the board a second time but without the same freedom I had in Eagle.

The printed board comes from the file prepared in Eagle.

This week the soldering went better, I'm getting more confident with that.
