Assignment 19: Project Development

Prototype for the project Mudra is completed, with the following functions

  • Card scanning
  • Retrieving card details and sending it to the server
  • Web interface is ready to use
  • Password protectio for each of the account is done
  • SHA1 encryption implementation
  • POS can work without need of external power source it has got it's own battery
  • GUI is partially ready for two tasks, registering card and other is sending a amount/payment to the beneficiary

The following features I remained,

  • The battery charging circuitry
  • Eye candy casing for the POS
  • wanted to make casing using composite but remained
  • Nicer GUI which can display the cellular network strength just like the cellphone.
  • Use of bigger display instead of old school 16x2 LCD.
  • Implemention of heat printer in POS which will print the transaction receipt for the user
  • implemention of block chain

The question remained is how do I generate money? this is only the question remained unanswered till date and hoping to resolve it ASAP.

I'm planning to install these devices in my own FABLABs one is Vigyan Ashram and RiiDL which will act as test bed for my concept. By the end of August 2016 I'll be able to installing these devices and will start testing them.

I'm from electronics background and wanted to explore about the computer world, and about WWW. So, the problem of managing transaction of Vigyan Ashram led me to take it as final project. During the project I got an opportunity to learn about PHP, HTML, CSS in depth. I always wondering about the how tinny little SIM card controlled by a micro-controller can able to send the data to WWW. During the project I've explored the world of Atmega, WWW and very important thing is project planning and organization. In web development I specially studied sessions, authentication, POST and GET request, SQL database, different SQL queries. I'm pretty confident that in any future project I can be able to apply my skills which I've gained during this project. As looking at the technology's flow towards the IOT devices the skills which I earth during this project are really quite helpful.
