What is Intellectual Property?
WIPO(World Intellectual Property Organaization) says “Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce.”
IP is divided in to Two Catagories
1)Industrial Property
a)Patents
b)Trademarks
c)Industrial designs
d)Geographical Indications
2)Copyright
It covers literary works,films,music etc.
Why Promote and Protect IP?
What took years to create can be duplicated in moments so protect what you have created ,IP can be a business’s most important asset.
What is a Patent?
WIPO(World Intellectual Property Organaization) says It is exclusive grant provided for an invention or process that provides a new way of doing something or that offers technical solution to a problem
Who Grants Patent?
Patents are granted by national patent offices , In India Controller General of Patents Designs and Trademarks gives patent.
in US United States Patent and Trademark Office gives patents .
What is a Trademark
A trademark is a sign capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one enterprise from those of other enterprises. Trademarks date back to ancient times when craftsmen used to put their signature or “mark” on their products.

An industrial design constitutes the ornamental or aesthetic aspect of an article. A design may consist of three-dimensional features, such as the shape or surface of an article, or of two-dimensional features, such as patterns, lines or color.

It is a permission to use particular software or hardware the terms of each license is diffrent . I listing the licenses which suitable for me .
GNU General Public license
It is the most common used license in Open-Source Projects , Basically it allows users to copy ,modify and distribute software also it is a strong copy left license and gives wide range of rights to users . I am listing the main features . If you want to use GPL license in your project you need to add some specific infoarmations on your code also need to add license file .

MIT LIcense
This is the shortest and popular open source liceses it is very loose and more permssive than any other other licenses , It is not a strong copyleft license it is permissive and it not grants patent rights .

4)The only restriction is that code need to accompanied by the license agreement.
I found another interesting license Creative Commons (CC) but this is not a perfect opensource license it is mainly used for design projects .
After Studying this 3 licenses i selected MIT LIcense for my project and repository,because it is very simple and permissive . I mentioned about this license in my home page and project page .

How to Share my work?
I want to share my work with maker communities, for that i have some plans,some of my projects i already published in diffrent platforms like Instructables,Hackster.io,Make i will also share my final project in all possible platforms and magazines ,also i will try to showcase this project in Maker events and worksops .I am a producer of School Maker Faire thats why i can include my projects in that events.

Marketing
I am not planning to commercialize my current project cloudpot , but i want to upgrade my project into i-bricks which i already ixplained in [Applications and Implications] it is a modular IoT platform ,IoT products have huge potential market in coming years thats why after completing market study i want to jump with my product into market ,I am planning to raise money from crowdfunding campaigns like Indiegogo ,kickstarter etc.
This is the proposed product .
