Week 17

It will take tens weeks to complete the Final project which is pre-painted in the first week through e-learning skills, and the original plan is showed in the following figure. I will make a aquaponics system which is different from the general common aquaponics . I am tring to do some thing fun. Rather than making a mini system, I want to accomplish an architecture which is higher than people. Therefore, I had tried to make a small sample machine with some materials at hand in the past few weeks. The machine appearance will be produced with some ready-made parts and digital tools-made pieces, and then tested the programs and actions with Rela and arduino first.
在第一週所預畫的Final project中將要透過數十週的數位學習技能來完成,原先規劃如下圖。我將製作一個魚菜共生的系統,有別於一般常見的魚菜共生,想要有點趣味性的機構變化,但也不要只是製作迷你的架構。預計想完成的將是比人再高一些的設備。所以在過去的幾週時間,我用手邊的材料試做了一個小台的樣品機。使用了一些現成的零件與數位工具所製作出的零件,拼湊出外觀並以arduino與Rela先進行程式與動作的測試。

  • Sample machine frame is made by hand-cut wood group legislature. On the other hand, moving slide is made of a ready-made pulley, screw, and laser cutting rail seat. I draw the 10cm glider , 10 tooth and 6 tooth straight gear by Tinkercad, and printed by 3D printer. DC motor supplied the straight gear of ten tooth gear and six tooth gear. We can buy planting tube, pump, sump in the market.
    樣品機框架是由手工切割的木條完成組立。移動的滑軌使用的是現成滑桿、螺桿,配合雷射切割完成滑軌座。透過Tinkercad繪製10公分的滑塊與10齒及6齒的直齒輪,並由3D列印完成。10齒及6齒的齒輪則搭配DC motor進行傳動。養殖管、水池與幫浦都為市場買的到的東西。

    有製作這一座的經驗,我想能試著釐清以下問題。

    What will it do?

    This will be a water-culturing system with the concept of vertical planting tubes to grow plants.Circulating water system consists by pumping water from the bottom of the pool to the top of the filter cartridge. The water after filtration naturally flows along the wall like a waterfall pouring down, and back to the pool. The planting tubes can detect the moisture humidity by adding sensor on it. When plants need water, the motor will be activated to move the planting tubes beneth the falls for catching water. The planting tubes will be sent back until the water supply is enough, and wating for the next cycle. At the same time, the sensor will feedback some data like surrounding temperature, humidity, and illumination for adjusting the cultivation conditions.
    這將是一座水培系統,利用垂直養殖管來種植植物。循環水系統由最底的水池經幫浦打至頂端過濾盒。過濾後自然溢流,沿著牆面如瀑布般傾瀉而下,而回到水池。在其中加上感應器,可偵測水份濕度。當植栽水份不足時,馬達則自動開啟帶動滑桿使植栽管到瀑布接水。水份足夠時在退回原位等待下一個循環。另外也製作了感測周邊溫溼度、照度等,並將這些感測資料收集做為種植環境的判斷。

    This three questions , I listed a google table to distinguish the various parts needed. The columns of the file contain the category , name, size, unit price , quantity, location made ( mostly near Fablab Tainan stores as well as local stores and transnational electricity supplier ). I did not buy some of the part mentioned in the column because we have them already. Perhaps not detailed enough , Finally, the table to calculate the total expenses.
    此三項問題,我在google文件上開了一個清單,區分需要的各個零件清單。包含類別、名稱、規格、單價、數量、取得地點(多數為Fablab Tainan附近店家以及當地或跨國電商.),部分提列物品並沒有購買。也可能不夠詳細,因為使用了很多製造空間內已有的工具與耗材,同時也會多準備一些備用。表格最後同時計算出最後所花費的支出費用。

  • What is the schedule?

    It estimated four weeks to complete.
    1.week 1 ~ 2: material procurement, frame design and processing, the frame group legislature
    2.week 3 & 4: circuit board design and processing, programming, lines connection, testing and debugging.

    How will it be evaluated?

    Before the end of this program, I must reach the goal that the system will automatically maintain the moisture of the sponge, keep the water cycle running, and make sure the sensor data can be read successfully by the cellphone.Wish I had more time to maintain and expand this system, and make it more automatic and beautiful.
    此系統還有許多空間將能不斷被擴充,在學程結束前,最少要達到可以自動運作的功能,包含維持養殖海綿水分、水循環、感測器數值能夠順利被手機讀取到。希望我有更多時間可以不斷維護與擴充,能讓系統更加自動化與更優美些。
