Week 2 - Computer-Aided Design

2D Softwares

I tried out the following 2D softwares.
1. GIMP
2. Inkscape

1. GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program)

GIMP is a 2D raster software. The interface is very similar to Photoshop and I believe this is far more than enough for beginner. The comment that strike my mind is Why pay for licensed software when there is free software available?

Sketched using GIMP. Thumbs up for GIMP. I like it.

2. Inkscape

b. 123D Design

a. Autodesk Inventor

This is 3D parametric tool. Very powerful software with standard library, design calculator and engineers' handbook to help engineers with their design.

Done in Autodesk Inventor
