LESSON TEME: Machine Design

  This weekly assignment has lasted since the previous weekly assignment. The previous one was just thinking the idea, in this week, we make it shape. The idea we decide to make in the privious week is a drawing machine by using embeded encoder switching system. The details of the mechanism are discribed here. Video [1] shows an appearance in which the machine draws lines we command from our software application.

Machine Building

  My role in our group is the followings:

  • To Make the FabNet USB
  • To Control gestalt nodes and Move stepper moters
  • To Develop a software application to send drawing path infomation to the gestalt nodes
Figure [2] shows an appearance of soldering works of developing FabNet USB. Figure [3] shows wiring setup situation for stepper moters. The gestalt nodes conecting APTP connection shown in Figure [4]. I mounted the electronic boards to the machine [5] and ready to run [6].

Machine Building

  Figure [7] shows the drawing machine using embeded encoder switching system. Figure [8] is the machine architecture. I developed a software application to send a drawing path infromation [9]. Figure [10] shows one of the result that the machine draws. The mechanism of this machine is discribed here.
