Week.17 Applications and Implications

  • Assignment: propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered

  • what will do?

    It is a foosball table with sensor and an Android App to keep score, invite friends, set a tournament date and make a Bitcoin payment.

  • what materials and components will be required?

  • OSB or Playwood (the second is absolutely better!)
  • threaded rod, bolt, washer
  • PLA 3d Print for Player and handle grip
  • Regular ball and Iron bar and bushings (the only part to buy if you want an official regular table)
  • Playwood 3mm for bottom and internal parts
  • 2 LDR sensor, 1 servo motor, 1 or 2 screen LDC screen, 1 arduino board Optionally: 1 or 2 camera, wifi antenna
  • Machines: CNC Milling Machine, 3d Print, Laser cutter, Roland precision milling machine, iron saw, wrench
  • where will they come from?

    All can be locally sourced, except the and Iron bar and bushings, which I bought it in a factory in Italy.

    how much will it cost?

    Cost depending on te material quality and tenical solution. My prototype cost aproximatly 300€

    How to connect the sensor? in networking with a local board or direct with wire to the Arduino? How to connect the table to the internet and to the app?

  • how will it be evaluated?

    2d and 3d modelling Laser cutting (the bottom part) and engraving (by vector pattern instead of trivial raster) Milling machines 3mm and 6 mm tools, profile, pocket, drill 3D scan, mesh repair, mesh sculpting and optimization for industrial design (standard dimension of joint part) 3D print, (layer orientation perpendicular to the force of kick), Electronic part: design, sold, programming light sensor, servo motor, score screen and optionally the wifi antenna. Software part: design an app for Android as an interface, Idea: revitalizing analogic by digital, social and funny project, internet of things, bitcoin promotion
