This week we learned about open source and free softwares for creating 2d bitmap and vector images files.
GIMP
Inkscape
OpenScad Later on we had a class about OpenScad where I couldn't attend. But I'm putting up to date!
Assignment:
So for my final project i tried to make some sketches in GIMP, which was kind of slow for me, I'm really used to Photoshop, Rhino and Illustrator. But, I tried!
GIMP sketches:
Handmade sketches:
I also made a 3D model in Rhino, the software I am used to work.
I made a drawing in Illustrator
Opened it in Rhino directly. I didn't know you could open an .ai. :)
I tried to extrude the curves, but the extrusion had wird results, so I used my favourite fixing curves command: Make2D, using my current plane.
If you are unfamiliar to this, what will happen is that Rhino will redraw in a plane what you select. This is very useful.
Then I made an extrusion:
And then I made a 360 degrees revolution with my drawing.
