I also made a 3D model in Rhino, the software I am used to work.

This week we learned about open source and free softwares for creating 2d bitmap and vector images files.

  • GIMP
  • Inkscape
  • OpenScad
  • Later on we had a class about OpenScad where I couldn't attend. But I'm putting up to date!

Assignment: So for my final project i tried to make some sketches in GIMP, which was kind of slow for me, I'm really used to Photoshop, Rhino and Illustrator. But, I tried!

    Handmade sketches:

I also made a 3D model in Rhino, the software I am used to work.

  • I made a drawing in Illustrator
  • Opened it in Rhino directly. I didn't know you could open an .ai. :)
  • yey
  • I tried to extrude the curves, but the extrusion had wird results, so I used my favourite fixing curves command: Make2D, using my current plane.
  • If you are unfamiliar to this, what will happen is that Rhino will redraw in a plane what you select. This is very useful.
  • Then I made an extrusion:
  • yey yey
  • And then I made a 360 degrees revolution with my drawing.
  • yey yey
