Week 18. applications and implications

Assignment

propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered, answering:

projects can be separate or joint but need to show individual mastery of the range of skills covered where possible, and you should make rather than buy the parts of your project

final project proposal

what will it do?

surFABoard is a surfboard with various sensors which will collect oceanographic data. Surfers can contribute to environmental monitoring by just surfing and having fun. It's a kind of an ocean version of Smart Citizen.

who's done what beforehand?

Bouys are being used to monitor ocean data.

Here and there says that oceanographers need data on shallow water conditions because bouys have been unable to measure them. Smartfin, which has been an inspiration to my final project to a great extent, is one of the solutions to the problem.
