    Step 1

    Laser cutting is simply converting 2D into 3D real life object.After finishing computer aided design I was moving towards laser cutting.You should be convert design file into DXF formate.In laser operation basically two process are done such as,

    Laser cutting

    In laser cutting you can call file into RD Works software.Check size of geometry.Then decide speed and power of given material.

    Step 2

    After that download that file and the USB of machine to the computer and call file.Before that,

    Start - main switch,after that press UPS button on.,Turn on chiller ,Turn on main switch of machine.Then turn on engraving switch.Then download file from desktop.You should turn on compressor.Click on file button and enter on the file.

    Step 4

    In our fab lab bed size of laser cutter is 3*2 feet.When you enter the button, check manually origin or set the origin with up and down arrows and also left and right button on laser cutter.Aftet that press origin button.Check out frame with frame button.Start laser,exhust,light switch and start the job.

    Step 5

    After completing your job you should clean bed,material and all things.

    Group Assignment

    In group assignment we make different joints on laser cutter such as flexible joint,press fit,Hinge joint.My roll in this assignment is to design hinge joint and cut it on laser.So,these are the design snapes in solidwords software

    I was cutting my final project parts in cardboard by using above speed and power range.

    Vinyl cutter


    In vynil cutter I had use png file formate.Firstly, I was using photo shop software for writting my name.Then

    Then go to the roland vinyl cutter.Open ubantu and go to the terminal.Type sudo fab.,enter the passward and minimize the tab.select the machine and file formate.After that go to the make png load.Load png select segments.Make path also click on make camm.And file send to the machine.After that fix force and speed by using circular button.and click on enter.

    After that remove unwanted part on the sheet and that words paste on the masking tape.

    Paste that tape on your laptop.


    Parametric design


    According to Wikipedia Parametric design is a process based on algorithmic thinking that enables the expression of parameters and rules that, together, define, encode and clarify the relationship between design intent and design response. Parametric design is a paradigm in design where the relationship between elements is used to manipulate and inform the design of complex geometries and structures.Here, I prefer solidwork software for parametric design.Firstly you have to draw some geometry.let say cube.Then dimensioning it by creating global variable.After that go to the dialogh box.In equations you can give parameter for cube like a width,hieght and thickness.

    After that go to equations and elaborate the tree then go on width equation.Right click on it.then click on manage equations

    Edit the dimensions in the table.After that say ok.

    Save file and go to the insert - table - design table - say ok.

    Select dimension.And say ok

    Then excel sheet apears on the workbench.fill parts numbers or name of the parts.

    After filling values in it say ok.

    Parametric design is useful when you design such geometry which will repeat again and again but with changing variables.Like spanners,Nut-bolts,etc.That case parametric design gives its good output.
