Project Development
What is the deadline? How much time do I have left?
Deadline is 15 - 06 - 2017, one day before final presentation day [16 - 06 - 2017]. Our Instructor Francisco Camacho mentioned the date of final presentation to be able to manage our times.
What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
- Manufacture of molds: DONE - Test LEDs RGB sequence: DONE - Test magnet sensor: DONE - Battery and charger purchase: DONE - Composites for Juggling Club chassis: IN PROGRESS [Waiting for it to dry] - Main board for Juggling Club: IN PROGRESS [It is tested 100% on protoboard] - Acrylic pieces to support electronics inside Juggling Club: IN PROGRESS [Design at 50%] - Assembly of all parts: NOT DONE
How will I complete the remaining tasks in time?
Most of them are DONE, the remaining taks just need a little adjustments. They are already on track!
What has worked?
All task have worked correctly.
What hasn't?
Test magnet sensor present some difficulty regarding the voltage supply that is provided. Issue that has already been solved and the redesign is integrated into the Juggling main board.
What questions still need to be resolved?
-Will it only be necessary the acrylic to join both parts of the club?
-Can the acrylic holder resist when juggling club falls to ground?
What have you learned?
FabAcademy 2017 has been a hard challenge. Not only about technological knowledge. Also, the personal growth that I developed in parallel due to other circumstances. It's been a very challenging 5 months.
Within the knowledge learned are:
-Use Shopbot to do 3D milling. It was my first time, I enjoy it a lot. Shopbot is a good machine.
-I liked to work composites, despite fiberglass is complicated. Just need to be carefully. I think it is possible to do anything with a good mold and greater knowledge of other materials.
-About electronics, I made a reminder of everything I learned earlier. I consider, having improved my skills. Week 16, Interface and application programming, was interesting. Worked with input and output devices was cool because I did those with SMT components.
-Something that I think has improved a lot is Computer-Aided Design, both 2D and 3D.
-A big challenge as FabLab Tecsup team was to do our 4X AXIS CNC MILLING MACHINE. It was a couple of weeks of much learning. From idea concept to materialization of it. We did it!
-Molding and casting was entertaining because I could replicate a piece in 90%.
-Finally, at first it was crazy because the number of lines of code and had to understand them, look for tutorials, references, etc. But, now I have a special affection. Develop a web was a good challenge.
