MAKING THE RUBBER MOTHER MOULD

POURING RUBBER

I mixed LIQUID RUBBER in 1:1 ratio. It was sticky and thick, quite hard to mix with a wooden spatula. For my moulds I used one and a half containers of part A and part B.

DEMOULDING

It was quite hard to get the rubber part out of the mould. The smaller piece was easier, with the big one I used a screwdriver to help me lift it slightly damaging the outer side of the mould - but that had no impact on the inside of the mould.

CASTING THE CUP

I used piments to slightly change to color of the plastic and a mould release spray which was recommended by the producer of the liquid plastic.

Mixing the LIQUID PLASTIC in 1:1 proportions and waiting 20 minutes for it to set.

I used rubber bands to hold the mould together

READY CAST

The cup looks nice, I have poured a little bit too much material this time. The details will need to be sanded and cut off. The nest cast I will try to make with the smaller ammount of plastic.
