Project Development

Introduction:

This week I am required to complete my final project and track my progress. The heat has never gone this high. There is very limited time left and quite some work to be done.
My goal as it has been is to develop an automated fun box for keeping toys.

What is the deadline? How much time do I have left?

AT the moment, I have one week to presentation of the final project which will be taking place starting 14th June and a documentation deadline of 28th June by which I need to have done all the documentation and uploaded to the repository before it is shut down on the same day.

What tasks have been completed What tasks remain?

I have finished working on the mechanica structure designs. I have also designed the electronic circuit and awaiting testing and fabrication. Im now left with fabrication, programming and some editing of the parts to be 3D printed.

How will I complete the remaining tasks in time?

Honestly there is alot of pressure at the moment both from the academy's schedule and personal life but the plan is to keep things running at all times.

  • Draw up a schedue of everyday's activities and expected goals to be achieved before the end of each day
  • Thoroughly ensure that each deign work has every considerations given to it before fabrication to avoid errors and redesigning
  • Do as much consultations as possible on areas that are not very clear to ensure efficiency on time spent for research
  • Ensure that each started module has been completed before moving to the next one to reduce repetition and time wastage.
  • Considering that daytime has some other responsibilities to be taken care of as well, I might have to do some extra hours in the lab during the night
  • What has worked? What hasn't?

Designing has been successful, daily time management has been fairly good but debugging the code is really taking shots on me. Im still looking into it.

What questions still need to be resolved?

At this pace I think I will finish on time. So far so good

    What have you learned

Wow! Time, time, time! Sometimes I thought I still had the luxury of time and postponed documentation. Its biting me during this week. Document at every slight oportunity you have and get it off your plate.
