Week 4: Electronics Production

Back to Small Scale

This week I machined a circuit board. I used a Roland MDX-15 mill to produce the circuit board. I made the ISP Programmer based on the designs that are provided on the 2017 Class page for this week's project.

Designing:

Tape up the circuit board blank so it wont move as it is cut

Place the blank into the minimill.

Begin cutting the pattern into the blank

The blank is now fully milled with all of its surface mount pads and leads.

Next, I soldered a handfull of surface mount components to the board using a RF solder iron.

I worked with our LCCC instructor to get some guidence on programming the new microcontroller utilizing "avrdude".

After running through all the code, We programmed the ATtiny45, and unsoldered the connecton by the 6 Pin header to finalize the process. All the lights worked, it communicated, and was able to program other boards.
