-Week 18-
Invention, Intellectual Property
and Business Models
Objectives:
This week my assignment was to choose two types of certified licenses from a list. I than need to talk about each license separately and pick one and explain why I prefer this particular license.
Invention- something that has never been made before, or the process of creating something that has never been made before.
Intellectual Property- someone's idea, invention, creation, that can be protected by law from being copied by someone else.
Business Models- A business model is the way in which a company generates revenue and makes a profit from company operations
There are several certified licenses available:
- Eclipse Public Licenses
- GNU General Public License
- Apache License 2.0
- Common Development and Distribution Licenses

The two Licenses I chose to discuss and compare are MIT License:
1- MIT License
2- Mozilla Public License 2.0
The MIT License- In this license a project is protected but it will be exposed to the public. However, the public cannot edit the project they are only able to improve it or add to it.
MIT License
Mozilla License- A short, permissive software license. Basically, you can do whatever you want as long as you include the original copyright and license notice in any copy of the software/source. In this license the project is also exposed to the public and anyone can edit a file, but no one else can use it as their own trade mark.
Mozilla License
Conclusion:-
Based on the licenses descriptions, I choose the Mozilla License. The reason for this, is because it is open source and very flexible.
