This week was a group project. The Lab students got together and chose a team leader who assigned each member a task. Some tasks required two to three members to accomplish them. We created a what-do-list and the material needed for the task.
The first step the group did was thinking of a project. A couple of ideas were suggested, but we finally chose to do a device made up of 2-axis (x/y) arms with an LED light connected to it. We will program the arms to move to a certain point and when the arms move to that point the LED. light will glow. After drawing a sketch on paper, the team collected the parts from a couple of old 3D Printers.
My part in the project:
My task in the group project was documentation. I also contributed in some small tasks like dismantling the 3D printers and putting the parts together to see how the project will function.
Some of the parts we took from the old 3D printers were: - rods - limit switches - motors - joints
Difficulties:
The main obstacle I faced was collecting the data (videos and documentation) because it was a large group of students and each worked at different timing.
