Week 6: Electronic Design

Assignment :

This week assignment the echo board, add (at least) a button and LED

This is the first experience for me the electronic designing .our instructors first introduce us some electronic design software.it is really intresting and i plan to studdy eagle software.

Eagle

Eagle is an electronic design automation application with schematic capture,printed ciruict manually and automatically.ther is two step process first we want design the schematic,then lay out a PCB based on the schematic.the first task for us download the eagle and install  click here for download eagle.

How to draw a circut diagram in an eagle.

There is two process one is schematic and another side board diagram.in the schematic side we choose the components and connecting the components.in our fab we are using 1206 desin components.the design file are available in the fabacademy page.we download the library and i add the design file in eagle.

How to add library in eagle

Library --> use -->select the library file which one you want to add

First day instructors introduce some basic tools of eagle software.

SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM

This all are the main tools that we are using design the files.firstly we want to add the file for that you can see there is ADD option,click add--> Then i  select the fab library and i choose what are all the components we need moreover,i add the components in the schematic page.the next step is connect the component with microcontroller for that we can use two tools one is NET tool another one is LABEL . NET tools used we can connect with components by line and LABLE connection is    we use same name both side.for the naming type NAME  in the command bar.Then i refere the echoboard for  redrawing, really it is very difficulty for bigners.my sugession is first they want gave the schematic diagram for reffering because  board it is diffculy for bigners.any way instructors help us for the drawing

How To Connect LED in A Circuit Diagram

First we want to figure out the resistor Required for the Led For that i referd the data sheet of LED  It mentions a Voltage - Forward (Vf) of 2.1V and DC Forward Current of 30mA

                     R = (Vs - Vf) / Ifc

                      R = (5V - 2.1V) / 0.03A

                        R = 96.67 Ohms

I got 96.67 thats why took the nearest value 330 ohm which is available in fablab inventory here.

BOARD DIAGRAM

After the schematic ther is a button Generate/switch to board .we can see a new window. Moreover we can see the conected components

1)AUTOROUTER

11)ROUTE

111) ROTATE

1111)Move

11111)Ripup

Then i select all move button use i arrange all of them inside of the box moreover i change the components using MOVE .and i rotate the components using ROTATE instructors give us an idea of desin rules i set all of them

How to set Design Rules

Edit-->design rules

Then I select The AUTOROUTER .AMAZING In my life i did the first board really it is a good experiance i cant belive me any way thank you for fab academy giving this opportunities.

The next think how to export the file to the cirqoid format

CAM processor-->file-->select the job file---->process job(we can see the file where we saved the eagle file )i explained how to use the cirqoid machine in week4

Milling

Soldring components

1)microcontroller

2)AVR isp

3)100 ohm resistor

4)10 k ohm resistor

5)FTDI

6)20 Mhz Crystal

7)1 mf capacitor

8)LED

9)SWITCH

RESULT

TESTING THE BOARD

Then i  start to checking  the Continuity from avr isp to microcontroller and the connection of LED,SWITCH etc..

thank  god it's DONE !
