Collision detector sensor ring
Concept here is to find out if axis is perpendicular to surface below.
It will consist of 4 nos of ultrasonic distance sensors which will contineously detect for distance from surface. As soon as there is a significant change in distance detected by sensors system will alert that there is mis alignment
Possible usages
CNC gas cutting
Sometimes due to bulge in material distance between cutting torch and plate reduces and cause poor cutting.
Sometimes plate touches with torch and cause damage to torch
Laser cutting
There are similar instances my occur during laser cutting and hence cause damage to nozzle
3D Scanning
3d Scanner can check for surface perpendicularity and accordingly make scanner head inclined to precisely scan for inclined
surface
