ASSIGNMENT 1.
PRINCIPLES & PRACTICES, PROJECT MANAGEMENT.
Work through a git tutorial.
Build a personal site in the class archive describing you and your final project.
GENERAL IDEAS TO START THE THING!
Well. I think last time I programmed something was in 3dBase so I was a bit afraid at the beginning.
I started paying atention to our gurus and the crew of FabLabBCN. And then I started playing with codeacademy.com
Very interesting indeed, and very inspiring. I actually realized that i didn't want to use a template. I rather explore the HTML world a bit. (nice idea! but......puf)
I also started the tutorials from w3schools.com Then I focused on the GIT part of the assignement, which I found nor that complex nor that demanding in terms of method. Following the path is not that difficult (yeah, well.... so far)
Step by Step
- Surf the net for resources.
- Understand the logics through external refrences.
- Develope something personal in "blind" mode.
- Ask Xavi and Santi for help when starting the GIT process.
- Think about the final project.
- Chaos and destruction?
Method
I just followed the steps i explained in the previous paragraph. And I'm right now in the process of understanding better the boundaries and the capabilities I need to improve more. I followed a "survival" method, so I hope to get back to coding with a better approach.

First conclusions
- I need more time to improve coding.
- I need to have a good perspective and decide what is worthless.
- I have to start organizing the images and the contents in an abstract level.
- I have to reconsider the last one! Man, learning and organizing at the same time???
- I have to figure out a nice documentation structure.
- I have to develope a bit my preliminary projects to visualize the final result and to decide.
- I don't want to start coding HTML in a master-oriented way (!!!)
Second approach
- Check the main problems with HTML classes.
- Finding the way to make the webpage more responsive.
- Changing the code and start using percentage to scale things.
- Understanding the pading concept, boxes and "containers".
- Reconsider the use of images an how to do it in an efficient way.
- Repeat the GIT processes in a Windows computerto access from diferent points.
- Open a GIT hub folder to develope an accesible personal repository.
- Keep thinking about the project (still doubting until friday
- Less chaos and more construction!
- Explain a bit my project
Next conclusions
- Include conclusions after second aproach

My project
At the end I decided to focused in a project related with my area of expertise: theatre design and theatre education.
I want to develope a small starter kit designed as a small theatre scale model, but a scale model with automatic movements, pieces to be cut on a laser cutting machine, parts to be printed and a small approach to electronics.
Somehow this project would be replicated and delivered to the theatre schools taht want to improve the bokk of knowledge of their students, realted with digital fabrication
My first sketches

Here you can see an isometric aproach to the general concept. I added some red squares to remark the motor-based movements. The top one would be a translation motor to open and close the main curtain.
The four red squares on the left would move the flys of the upper machinery.
I would like to add some lower machinery movements (lateral and US-DS) and i'll use the 3d printer systems to achieve this objective

That's the top view of the full set up. I was spending some time in the hospital, so I could figured out some small guides to achieve a synchronized movement of the stage trucks. But I still have to improve the concept and consider what kind of movements I want to deploy.
Working at FabLab Barcelona and IAAC is a cool oportunity, very overwhelming in terms of insiration.
So many areas covered gives you many unspected inputs. And robots developed at IAAC are a fantastic guideline for my project.

I include two examples of inspiring elements that most probably will become great halpers for my project.
let's see how I handle the next assignments. And how resolutive i can become thank's to this amazing surroundings!
