Assignment :
Propose a final project that integrates a range of units covered. Projects can be separate or joint, but need to show individual mastery of all of the skills. Where possible, you should make rather than buy the parts of your project.
Learning outcomes:- Define the scope of a project.
- Develop a project plan.
Think of your project plan as an 'installation and implementation guide' for the future. How will others be able to make your project by reading your documentation?
- What will it do?
- Who's done what beforehand?
- What materials and components will be required?
- Where will they come from?
- How much will it cost?
- What parts and systems will be made?
- What processes will be used?
- What tasks need to be completed?
- What questions need to be answered?
- What is the schedule?
- How will it be evaluated?

"RF-based small FAB-E Robot"

What will it do?
The dual-mode robot is a cleaning robot.I t will automatically clean the floor, or we can direct it using the RF remote or android App while sitting on the sofa or bed.

Who's done what beforehand?
I have seen a few many projects in website (link Project 1, Project 2 etc..) which all uses RF remote controller. I plan to control my robot using an android application and RF remote controller.
What materials and components will be required?
- Controller board with AtTiny 44/atmega 328
- Encoder and Decoder IC - HT 12E & HT 12D
- Bluetooth Module HC-05
- IR Transmitter and Receiver
- RF 434mhz Transmitter and Receiver
- DC Motor 100 rpm
- DC Motor Driver IC
- LM324 Comparator
- 9V HI-WAAT battery , Resistor, Capacitor,
- 7805 - Voltage Regulater
The components (AtTiny 44/atmega 328,DC Motor 100 rpm, Voltage regulater, Resistor, Capacitor, 9V Battery) will be sourced from the fabalab. Other components are buy with online or local electronic component dealers.
How much will it cost? The project cost should be below 3000 rupees (45$).
What parts and systems will be made? The Body for Robot, the controller board, its logic, sensor module, Remote control, Android Application.
What processes will be used?- In my project I used the below machines:
- Trotec Speedy 100 & Ultimaker 2 3D Printer : Making the body of Robot.
- Roland MDX 20 : For miling the all circuit boards in my project.
- Roland GX-24 Vinyl Cutter : Label making
I have started to design & make the body of my robot and the PCB's are mill & tried out the logic for the control. The circuit Design almost completed.
What questions need to be answered?Currently FAB - E robo is controlled by a remote control/application. Is it possible to add some intelligence to FAB - E, so that it can automatically detect the dust on the floor. If so, it will become a fully automatic machine.
What is the schedule?PCB Design, making and Programing - 1 Week.
Robot body Design and making - 2 Week's.
My project will complete on or before June 22. Presentation will be on June 22nd. How will it be evaluated?
FAB - E is user friendly, it's advanced version mobile app support will enable its operation very simple. The cost of FAB - E is will be app.< $50. So it may not be a burden to the customer.
For FAB -E robo I used IR sensor for the obstacle detection device, but IR is sensitive to sun light. There is a chance that it may send fault input to the processor.
In Order to overcome this, I am planning to replace the IR sensor with Ultrasonic proximity sensor.
With the above correction we can make a full-fledged cleaning robot within our budget.
