Week 19 : Invention, Intellectual property, and Income

Assignment :

Develop a plan for dissemination of the final project.

Invention

The project as the whole might be a new concept but there have been even more intensive smart furnitures in the market like the Zen Table. There is a huge preference to personal fabrication and with this project let there begin a revolution in making personalised furniture at the fablab. You can find the design files in my fababcademy page and develop upon the project or get inspired and create a furniture for your own.

Intellectual Property

My project being furniture that can be entirely made in fablab. I like others to exchange their knowledge and keep developing the project. I like to make the project open source, so that anyone can download it and make it, also get inspired and making smart furniture according to their needs.

I like furniture to be made personalised, rather that being purchased in from stores that are mass manufactured seeing to an imaginary customer.

Also copyright from fab lab seems interesting. It is short, simple and easy to under stand. Patent and trademarks being waste of time and money. Also, since knowledge should be free and shared, I'm not interested in patent and trademarks.

Income

We spend most of the time running around working to earn some income, every one would love to earn doing what they love. Converting my final project into a source of income or as an inspiration for the same is a thought worth giving.

I can create a platform like OpenDesk where people could as for the custom made smart furnitures they require and design for them. New products needs to be designed and build since one product would obviously not be enough.
