The first deadline with a "almost working" prototype is the 7th of July, with the final delivery of the Fab Academy 2016. After that date I will continue to develop the extruder in order to have a full working prototype until the October 2016.
At the moment I'm in time with the setted timetable, so I will continue to follow it to finishin the task in time. The work for the Fab Academy final delivery is done.
The first test of the prototype went pretty good, the board and the firmware are working well, the extruder is able to extrude the material and the robot can follow the path generated from the grasshopper components.
The extruder is not yet able to complete a good prented seample (but I have a second prototype with some improuvment almost ready to the testing). The grasshopper cluster need a couple of improuvment to set the printing parameters that at the moment is not easy to change.
The main question that I have is if the extruder could be useful to oder fablabs, because not a lot of fablab at the moment have a 6 axis robot; but I think that in the future of the fablab and digital fabrication the 6 axis robot arm will take hold.
I think that the most important things learned are working and learnig from my local class mate and all the other from the Fab Academy, from all the errors not only mine but the others too and the last thing is try to do it!
