About me

My name is Fernando Torres, a Mechanical Engineer graduated from the Universidad de Chile in 2012. The same year I was hired by the university through a MECESUP program to work in the stablishment of a hands-on laboratory in the University of Chile's Engineering School under the CDIO principles, which, from the begining, was thought as a Fab Lab. So, my first work was to design, assemble, operate and mantain a Fab Lab, which provided free and open access to all the digital fabrication tools (with the corresponding training courses, of course) to the general public. There I worked as Manager and learnt most of the Fab Lab principles, philosophy, machines and processes.

This year (2016) I moved to work at Fab Lab Santiago, which is a huge honor, and started the Fab Academy ... which I hope survive ...
