Square shapes that connect horizontaly and vertically with simple connectors inpierd by bag connectors.
All designed in inkscape I started off using fusion 360 but it kept crashing on me as I stared to sketch in it so I could not use it for this part of the project.
My first version was much smaller in the design fase mainly becouse I forgott to mesure the cardboard first so I had to scale it up to allow for a 4mm thick sheet of cardboard My idea vas fairly simple just pices that could connect together to see how things would fit.
Lazer cutting started off with a misstake of mine by not checking the mesurements for the vectorpath as I set it 0.200mm so the lazercutte could not vector cut it and the cutter just moved qucikly in place doing no cutting, the actual scale should have been 0.02mm.
The first version did not press fit together becouse I had made the points that would fit in the hole were too close to each other the only thing that happed to it was the cardboard bent and the points tore, also the strucure gave in due to the hole I had made in the middle to perhaps allow for some diffrent type of connection.
Tho I thougt it would pass since I had taken into account that the lazer cutter would cut enough in its path to open up the gap to fit so it needed adjustments of a few mm, the second cut fit but i need to move holes closer to the edge to allow for it to fit on all four sides since now it only fits
one way.
For version trhee there was a startup delay wich coused the first cut to hang on to a little square for the connection hole, I thought at first that it was a misstake but since it was all the others were coppyed from this one it made little sence to me untill Bas explained that it was a delay in the cutter from being started up.
Cutting out v4 I forgot to check if the printsettings were on actual size, wich it wasnt so it was made to fit and I got about a 12 cm version of one piece.
For the vynil cuter i wanted to try out a tshirt print and a simple sticker so i found a logo from the movie aliens and turned it into a vector path an then i needed the text under it so i had to find the font for it so that the text would be in a vector too
i found instructions on how to use the vynil cutter from a last years students page wich helped me realise why it was not cutting becouse i though there only was a single weel to set the vynil in the machine. fabWiki
Cuting went well and i went on to peel the back off, that did not go so well for the letters in the text they all got pealed off with the background and kinda got allover my hand :P i know now that i should have taken my time with them and had them seperate by cutting them away in a strip and then picked off the backing.
The tshirt desing went well it was a image of Kirby from Pokémon wich i had to tinker around with in inkscape, the it was reddy for cuting then once done it was reddy to put on the shirt, instrucitons on how to use the heatpress i found on the fab wiki and on the website of the heatpress makers about how hot it should be and what time it would take.
