Electronic production

The 4th week assignment consist to producing printed circuit boards, in particular mill, stuff and program the Fab ISP, which allows to program AVR microcontrollers.

At the lab, we decided to produce Zaerc's Fab ISP, the following images will show is composition:

Milling

For the milling we have used the Roland Milling Machine SRM20, I've never used this kind of machine before so he took me some time to understand the positioning and the basic settings of the axis. Thanks to the Fabmodules the entire process was really smooth, I just needed to set the machine, prepare the bed, and install the 1/64’’ inch bit for the traces, and the 1/32’’ inch bits for cut out the board.

The first try didnt work properly due to a really light inequality in the bed (not completely flat), for fix that i have repeated the track process with and enanched dept.

Stuffing the board

Following the bill of materials , I started to stuff the board, to be honest it was my first time using a welder, infact this process took me many hours.

The size of the components and the limited space made this part of the assignment quite challenging for someone who never tried to solder before.
Anyway, with the help and the hints of Chris and Frank, I completed the task.
