Principles and practices, project management

The first week assignment was to build my own website to describe the journey at the academy and the final project. The website had to be bounded to the fabacademy repository using Git, a source code management system for software development.

Personally, I had really basic experiences with website developing so I struggled a bit during the week but at least i figured it out.

About the site

For build this site i have used a template from bootstrap, after that i have modified with Brackets, a free open-source editor written in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with a primary focus on Web Development. It was created by Adobe Systems, licensed under the MIT License, and is currently maintained on GitHub. Brackets is available for cross-platform download on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

As i said before, I had a basic knowledge of website designs, anyway I've found Brackets simple and helpfull during the programming process, it gives you different signals for guidance (the words become red if something is wrong for example), and that really helped me through the developing

Sketch of the project

I wasn't sure at all about my final project, many thoughts and ideas crossed my mind during those days, but after a talk with the teachers of the academy I decided to follow one of the first ideas I had

A month ago i was talking with my friend Livio about a possibile project for the academy. He has a passion for agriculture and rejects almost totally the artificial way of farming that was developed during the century.

Talking about this, we concluded that the main problem was the light: the sun, from our point of view, during the day tracks a parabola, this kind of "rotation" gives the plant a particular intensity and inclination that changes during the day, this trajectory can't be provided by a normal lamp.

The plant moves toward the sun when it grows, so during the day it follows the sun's movement. These movements are essential for the plant's growth, but right now there is not such thing in indoor growings,

My final project consists to create a lamp that emulate the sun during the day,

I want to give a plant the right light with the same intensity and inclination of the sun, to reach this goal I have to evaluate many things

Those are just few of the problems that i need to solve. Few really simple sketches.. With the following 3 images I simply show the differences between the natural outdoor illumination provided by the sun and the artificial lightning made by a lamp, the 3rd image is my final goal, the mix between the solar movement and the artificial light, obviously just the installation of many lamps in different angulations will not give an exhaustive result.
