propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered, answering the following questions:


1. WHAT WILL I DO?

create an autonomous fish feeding mechanism along with a fish tank.The mechanism will automatically feed the fishes during a fixed time interval.

2. Who's done what beforehand?

There are some people who have done similar things.I hope to make my own unique mechanism and design, different from the others.

3. What materials and components will be required?

I will need acrylic/glass to make the fish tank,3D printed parts for feeding mechanism, machine cutted platform/stand, motor, electronic components to make the mechanism autonomous including an arduino/fabruino.

4. Where will they come from?

All the items are available in FAB inventory.

5. How much will it cost?

I wont be needing to purchase anything other than the fish food, which would cost about 2$.

6. What parts and systems will be made?

I will make an output board to drive a motor, couple of 3D printed parts for the mechanism, fish tank using acrylic, wooden platform for tank stand. Systems used will be PCB milling machine, shopbot, laser cutter, 3D printer, electronic workbench.

Inorder for the mechanism to work, I will need to make a arduino board(fabdruino), create code for the autonomos working of the mechanism, design a measuring system for feeding the required qty of food.

What kind of measuring technique should i use to dispense the feed.

I hope to finish the project before may 20th.
