APPLICATIONS AND IMPLICATIONS

WEEK 17

Task:

propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered

what will it do?

The issue of the project consist in make a interactive sculpture, that react when people pass their hands on the top of the module, each module has a led, photoresistor and servomotor.

who's done what beforehand?

  • Five years ago in different college in Europe
  • Master degree programs
  • MIT

what materials and components will be required?

Manufacturing:

  • Acrylic of 4mm 30 x 60cm
  • MDF of 4mm
  • Screw

Electronics:

  • Jumper wires
  • Servo motor
  • Photoresistor(LDR)
  • Protoboard
  • Fabduino (ATmega 328)
  • LEDS
  • Resistor 20 ohm
  • Resistor 10K

where will they come from?

what parts and systems will be made?

  • Pieces of acrylic
  • Protoboard
  • Fabduino
  • Program codes

what processes will be used?

  • Laser cut
  • Wires soldering
  • Board soldering
  • Programming

what tasks need to be completed?

  • Design module of acrylics witch laser cut
  • Desgin board and protoboard for connect the signal
  • Programming code for read LDR, LEDs  and servomotors

what questions need to be answered?

  • How to assembly each module?
  • How to write the programming for read digital signal?
  • How to write the programming for read analog signal?
  • How to wire all the components?

what is the schedule?

  • 08/07 Design and test the prototype
  • 15/07 Program the sensors and outputs(servo motor)
  • 22/07 Assembly and wire all the components

How will it be evaluated?

Reading servo motor signal

Reading photoresitor signal

Operation of the mechanism

Turn on Leds according the signal
