Dew Point Monitoring System for FogCatchers ----------------

Week 19 - Project Development - Tracking the Project

what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?

what questions need to be resolved?

what will happen when?

What have you learned?

I learned that outdoors there are lots of opportunities to develop thinks, I saw the great variety of projects in this course but also in others. We never get bored about ideas, possibilities of technology, ways to do things, but also in the scopes, some solutions for some disciplines can be solutions for others. The possibilities are everyday growing as technology grows. That is divergence.

But also is important to have plans to follow, schedules to accomplish, activities to document. That is convergence, and in our word is also important to accomplish objetives and goals.

I learned that under pressure, we can achieve incredible things. The team work is a precious think that could make synergies in the moment we want.

I realize that the archive is a very valuable database of knowledge, and could be starting point of lots of things. I confirmed my self that knowledge is every day more within our reach.

I learn many things in every assignment, but the most valuable is all the things that now I can do by my self, and that opens many doors and possibilities.

Documentation during the project

One of the big lessons in Fabacademy, for me, was, live the fact that documentation is not justa a mechanism to transfer knowledge, but to organice some aspects of the project, such as issues, solving issues, things to coordinate, dependences, etc. It also is a helpfull tool when working with complex and detailed problems, helps us to track what we are investigating.

Spiral Development

The spiral Development was usefull, I began the trip, buying an arduino, a protoboard and basic components, I began wit basic examples in every programming environment I try out. By the way there is usefull web page with basic programming. Also in the conception of fogcatchers, I began doing the first prototypes in the computer controlled cutting assignment, doint small and simple prototypes, then with technics of Compueter Controller Machining, and composites. Closing cycles even if they are basic ones motivate to achieve bigger objetives.
