Dew Point Monitoring System for FogCatchers ----------------

 

The electronic part of this project, is a box that has a LCD, measures humidity and temperature and sends it via Wi Fi.

 

 

 

 

 

Needed:

 

  • The component of the box cutted. The components are in the previous page
  • The Fabduino
  • A DHT11 temperature and humidity sense
  • A board for WiFi communication with the ESP8266 12E component
  • A DHT11 humidity and temperature device
  • A LCD display 16 X 2
  • Premium Female/Female 'Extension' Jumper Wires
  • A 10k Potentiometer.
  • A 220 ohms resistor.
  • A FTDI cable

 

Recomendations

 

Here you can see the assembly process, as I mention in the design process, some difficult items founded here:

 

  • To have a final product as small as possible means arrange carefully all components: cables, devices, boards, taking care of all connections remains without problems.
  • Doesn't needs of glue or nails.
  • Is made of a cheap material as MDF.
  • The challenge of the box to contain the input (humidity and temperature) and output devices (LCD), and WiFi board consider that this elements have to be in contact with exterior side.
  • The notches and slots allows to arrange the cables in a structured layout.
