Applications and Implications

MIT'S BRIEF

Propose a final project that integrates the range of units covered

What will it do?

The “Lumina Smart gadget" adds to that by reacting to the environment around its wearer:
this echoes with wearable materials, being researched at the moment in the textile industry. It glows customizable palettes of light color based on ambient sounds.

Who's done what beforehand?

There are several projects I've seen on the internet, a similar project is called Lüme created by
Jorge & Ester.
Lüme is an electronically infused clothing collection which integrates dynamic, user customizable elements driven wirelessly from a common mobile phone. The design and engineering of the collection is focused on the integration of electronics in such a way that they could be easily removed or embedded when desired, thus creating pieces that are easy to wash and care for.

What materials and components will be required?

Electronic components

Electronics

Led's(Rgb Addressable strip)
Jumpers
PCB board
Solder
Power supply

Materials for the necklace:
Filaflex filament ( 3d printed parts), hydro quartz, 925/°°° sterling silver for the clasp.

Where will they come from?

I will fabricate the "lumina smart gadget" on my own.I could buy the electronic components at the Digi-key store, 3D filaments on Amazon, sterling silver clasp here and get the hydrotermal stone from a gemstone supplier.

How much will it cost?

What parts and systems will be made?

Electronics:
The "Lumina board" based on the ATtiny 85 microcontroller board which I used for my Final
Power supply
3D printing and Assembling the Necklace

What processes will be used?

Electronics: Input+Outputs
3d Printing
Pcb milling
Soldering
Programming
Assembling parts
Here is the Fab Lab Inventory for a more detailed list of prices for the hardware and products available at the lab.

What tasks need to be completed?

I noticed that the Microphone is not picking up the voice properly. That will be the next task to develop.I'm developing a new closing system for the box which contains and hide the "lumina board" and I'm redesigning the Necklace.
-3D printing
-Programming
-Mill+soldering
-Testing and fix bugs

What questions need to be answered

Should I change the microphone from Electret to Mems?
How big is my board?
Should I add a bluetooth module to the board?

What is the schedule?

- 1 September try to resolve the problem with the microphone
- 10 September test new materials for the spheres
- 20 September ready for the production

How will it be evaluated?

The prototype of my Necklace will be functional when detecting customizable palettes of light color based on ambient sounds.Considering it was just a prototype which allowed me to learn new things, I'm happy with it.I always wanted to create a product in order to interact with it.
