Mechanical Design
Assembling one of the stages.
I found it difficult to source the .115 inch Cardboard used in the original design. using Rhino and Grasshopper I attempted to change the design to fit our thickness of cardboard .160 - .170 inch. Every time I attempted to do so the design files would end up broken and no longer attached to each other.
Knowing we would not be using cardboard for our final design, I decided to make the design work with our thickness of cardboard in order to stay on track.
The pile of cut cardboard components.
Now to figure out the assembly order.
I struggled with the tab system and trying to find the correct order to fold and add hardware.
Carriage and Linear assembly complete.
Let's assemble everything with the Hardware.
WOA LOOK A STAGE! And I received the package containing the hardware shortly after taking this photo.
During the course of the week I spent a lot of my time trying to get the group page laid out and content created for the page. I assigned everyone a task for content creation. Sam : describe the type of tool and function we will be using. Kadin : design a simple sketch of how our tool-head might function. Ki : read and create an overview of the electronics we will be using.
