I
am a researcher in Aalto
University School of Arts, Design and Architecture (Helsinki,
Finland).
I was once a maker of furniture, but I spend most of my
time nowadays making academic papers, making books and making
EU-funded research project reports.
I
also teach Design-for-Sustainability and write about design activism,
urban activism and peer production.
I'm very involved in the Creative
Sustainability Master's Programme.
I've been researching Fab Labs for more than four years, but I'm a beginner at personal fabrication. I will be defending my doctoral dissertation (on Fab Labs) in March, so my projects and progress in Fab Academy will be slow and modest, especially at the beginning. Wish me luck... UPDATE! 2017 - now postdoc researcher...
I'm not sure about my final project yet. Some kind of smart mailbox or message box, perhaps. I'd also like to work with small solar panels.
Or a jewellery collection where pieces involve laser cutting, milling and some electronics. To be continued.
